Scene Fashion

Scene fashion seems to be very versatile. It seems to me that as long as you have the hair and make-up, you can make just about anything scene. Of course, there are common elements in scene fashion like bright colored skinnies, graphic tees, and converse or vans. What I love about scene fashion is that I can already use the clothes in my closet and make them scene rather easily. Accessories like big necklaces and other eye-grabbing pieces work to help get the scene vibe across. Scene fashion can really become unique depending on the person pulling it off. What are your thoughts? Anything in your closet that you didn't think could be scene but ended up being totally rad once you paired it with some hot accessories or other pieces?

Ooh, that's lucky. It's always nice to recycle clothes and make them into great new outfits.

I agree! DIY is so much fun! And it makes your clothes so much more unique! I'm addicted to it. =O Like, I got a pikachu hat at HT on clearance for 2 bucks, cut the pikachu out and sewed it onto a pair of hot pink pants I have~ Now they're super-rad!
Right now I'm zazzing up some plain leggings with some bleach, rips, and heart shaped fake jewels X3

Ooh, that sounds really sweet. I have a couple cut up shirts right now that I got sick of, but my mom doesn't let me wear them 'cuz they show off my belly button. Oh well.

XD Yeah, with situations like that I just wear something "appropriate" out of the house and then change at the gas station that's like a 3 minute walk away from my house~ Then I hang with friends and it's all cool X3 But forgetting to change back, that's when things get all "wtf?" with my mom XD

ha, mom's have the best "wtf" face. I used to hate going shopping for clothes, but now I love it. Probably since now I know my own style and can pick out the clothes that work best with me.

I'm the same way. I've never altered clothing before now and I still kinda don't. I'm always afraid I'll completely trash the clothes on accident, so I only cut up the shirts I don't like anymore.

Yeah, I'm like that too~ Luckily I keep clothes for like ever, but I always make sure that I'm 100% positive about doing anything to an article of clothing before I do. Cos I've ruined a few shirts and always regretted it. u.u But it's that whole "trial and error" thing~ Now I just have a few crappy shirts to wear on hair-dying night! XD

lol, I have this one shirt I'm wearing now. It's kinda cute, but out of style. I'm not really sure how to transform it.... It has light and dark blue striped across it and it is just a bit see-through. I can see my rainbow bra through it easily. I might get a picture up some time this week of it. I love it, I just don't know what to do with it. :/

oooh, if you get a picture of it up maybe I can give you some ideas! =D Unaltered clothes are like blank canvases to me, muahaha! lol Right now I'm trying to figure out what to do with a lame black sweater. u.u Thinking about getting some cardboard to cut a pattern of zebra stripes and spraypainting a mix of white and pink stripes on it. =/ *shrug* not sure just yet.

One easy thing to do with plain shirts like that is to just buy some fabric paint and pain on a band name! X3 It doesn't take complicated planning, it's relatively fast, -and- you can be super-creative with the way you write the name!

dat's sooo koool! lolz. i hated shoping now i love going into Pac-sun and hottopic looking for new sruff.when i pick up something HelloKitty my mom's like why.your not 3 anymore but it's better than your gothic crap.
i use 2 be into black and sad stuff.now i wear very littel black i <3 neon colors and im happy 99.8 % of the time! heheh Scene is so fun! Xd

It seems to me that emo/goths tend to get into scene a lot more than other groups of people. Maybe we just got sick of being sad and depressed and dark and decided to love life.

now i hate being sad.and if im sad i just dance and listion to happy stuff. ooo i have a par of neon green pant's w/ a hello kitty tee that's black,pink and neon green that makex ppl happy. lolz o i think i'll wear it tomorrow.hehhe.

Yesterday I went to the mall with a friend and I saw the CUTEST top on clearance. It was in hot topic, but it wasn't one of those obviously hot topic kind of clothes. (you know, the black and red corset tops or the gothic mini skirts) It is really cute and hopefully I'm going to get it when I go school shopping with my boyfriend tomorrow. It's only $11.98, which is shocking for something at hot topic. I am SUPER excited. I want it so bad.

Yeah man, clearance @ HT rules!! Especially because, I mean, I love the place, their clothes and stuff are so freaking rad, but soooooooper expensive. T_T But I raid the clearance every chance I get! LAWL I got a jigglypuff cell charm for like $2.50! =O And I love it after Halloween when all their costume stuff is on sale! X3

I used to be "gothic" when I was like in 8th and 9th grade. My grandma once said I looked like a "widow in perpetual mourning" XD And I was really depressed, but it wasn't the reason I wore black. =/ I just liked it better~ All the frilly black stuff, wearing colours felt weird. XD lol But then in 10th grade I got into Jrock and Japanese fashion is so great! X3 Lolita and decora is so awesome! Like, decora is like where you wear a BUNCH of random stuff and all bright colours and it's so adorable! Life is too short to not be bright and snazzy~ =D But I love punk style too! Like, I -adore- ripped up clothes and crazy band shirts and patches and studs, leather jackets all personalized... all that nonsense. I even have a punk jacket I made! X3 It's so cool, I'll have to post a picture sometime <3

And with the goths and emo kids getting into scene and stuff... it makes sense! I mean, it's like being able to still feel comfortable with yourself, but not so confined to just one colour! lol My family is way more accepting of me being scene than when I was goth too. XD They're always "It's good to see you wearing colour!" and I just giggle at them.
